Dr. Pumpalov was born the third child of a French language teacher and a Chemical Engineer. At a young age, he was greatly influenced to choose the medical field by his grandparents, uncle and aunt, all medical doctors. Early on, he desired a rewarding profession that would allow him to help others live healthier lives.
Considering one’s mouth to be the entry point to the whole body and one’s smile to be the center point of our social life and self-confidence, becoming a dentist allowed him to help patients to achieve better health and a more confident appearance.
Dr. Pumpalov received a dental hygiene degree from Edouard Montpetit College in Quebec, Canada, a DDS degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, and a master’s degree in Stomatology from The Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria. Upon graduation in 2000, he began practicing in a rural dental clinic before moving to Canada in 2004.
Being a foreign-trained dentist, he attended a recertification course of accelerated Dental Training over two years at UC Denver. Once graduated from the UC Denver School of Dental Medicine, he started commuting to a Northern BC village where he owned a dental practice from 2011 to 2017. During his professional life, he has seen firsthand what positive impact a confident smile and healthy teeth and gums can have on a person’s life.
In order to ensure that his patients receive the best possible care, he actively seeks out courses that help him to develop the new techniques and skills needed in this constantly changing profession. As knowledge is not the only requirement for quality dental care, he continues to invest in state-of-the-art equipment for his office, which allows him to perform more procedures “in-house” with more predictable and long-lasting end results.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Metro Denver Dental Society. Dr. Pumpalov is also continuously working on his Fellowship with The International Dental Implant Association. He is able to provide dental treatment in English, French, and his native Bulgarian.
When not in the clinic treating patients, Dr. Pumpalov can be found in his backyard, on the road bike, catching up with friends, or skiing with his wife and kids on the beautiful hills of the Rockies. He has called Centennial home for the past ten years, and he is looking forward to meeting many more patients in the years to come at Crossroads Dental Care.
